There’s tragedy in store for Emmerdale’s Ross Barton as he finds himself caught up in an horrific revenge plan gone wrong next week.
Desperate to teach Joseph Tate a lesson, Cain buys drugs from Simon McManus and tells him he will pay him extra to plant them on his nemesis at a party.
But what Cain and Simon don’t realise is Graham is standing nearby and has heard everything.
Graham tips Joe off about the plan, and when Simon turns up at the garage to see Debbie, she’s shocked to see him battered and bruised.
Clearly their plan didnt work – and with Simon on the receiving end of Joe’s wrath, he’s not a happy man.
His day then gets even worse when Debbie refuses to pay him for the job as he didn’t actually manage to successfully plant the drugs on Joe before getting beaten up.
Debbie’s not happy about Joe having one up on her and plans her next stage of revenge – asking Simon to do another job for her.
This time she wants the drug dealer to properly teach Joe a lesson, and being mad at the multi-millionaire himself for his beating, Simon is only too happy to oblige.
But what the pair don’t realise is there is about to be a serious case of mistaken identity.
Earlier that day, Graham has overheard another conversation (he does a lot of earwigging, doesn’t he?!) between Cain and Ross, where the Barton brother tells Cain he doesn’t want to be part of the Dingles’ revenge plan against Joe.
Graham must then let Mr Tate know that Ross has been double crossing him because later Joe has it out with his employee.
Ross is fuming when Joe sacks him for being in cahoots with the Dingles and seething, he storms out of Home Farm.
But on his way out, he grabs a set of keys belonging to one of Joe’s posh cars, determined to steal it in revenge.
But Ross’s plan to get back at Joe ends in tragedy when he is later attacked as he gets out of the car.
Thinking that Ross is in fact Joe, the attacker is Simon, simply carrying out the revenge plan that Debbie ordered.
