Emmerdale SPOILER: Ross tries to kill himself!

He's in a bad place

Ross Barton is in a dark place.

First he suffered the awful acid attack that’s left him permanently scarred. Then Debbie humiliated him when she told him she didn’t love him – even though he tried to hide how terrible he felt about it all.

And next week things get even worse for the former bad boy when he finds out the suspect in his attack is pleading not guilty in court.

That means poor Ross is going to have to take to the stand and talk about what happened. Is he in any fit state to do it?

Determined to cheer up his brother, Pete drags Ross out for a drink. So far, so good.

And Ross’s confidence is boosted when he’s chatted up by a beautiful woman. He’s still got it, right?

Or not. Because he soon realises the woman’s only talking to him as a joke and his self-esteem is left in tatters.

Later, Ross disappears and Pete’s frantic when he realises he can’t find his brother. He and Rhona head off to search for the broken Barton and they’re horrified when they come across his abandoned car, with pills and an empty whisky bottle inside.
