“I wasn’t prepared to do that. I don’t feel appreciated as an actress so I am quitting the industry.”
But speaking to the Manchester Evening News at the weekend she said that she hadn’t quit acting.
Roxanne said: “I haven’t quit acting. I don’t quit anything.
“I know my worth and I follow my instinct. I’ll always be a performer at heart, but for now my focus is firmly on my broadcasting career for a new chapter.
“A happier chapter. Self worth comes before anything.”
Roxanne also lifted the lid on sexual harassment she suffered while working in theatre.
Back in December she revealed to the Daily Star: “I was told by a stage manager that he had masturbated over pictures of me. On another occasion I was groped by a crew member by the side of the stage.

“I turned to an older actress for support and she actually told me sternly to ‘leave it’ and not cause a scene, so I felt very alone and almost like I was perceived as being oversensitive when my gut instinct told me otherwise.”
Roxanne is currently hosting York’s Minster FM Breakfast Show.
