Debbie Dingle got drawn further into Tom Waterhouse’s cunning plot in last night’s episode of Emmerdale – but is he actually setting her up to betray her entire family?
Debbie turned down a job offer from Tom, but last night she reconsidered when he made the role sound so high-powered even Lord Sugar would be impressed.
“You’d have your own portfolio,” he said.
“Company car?” asked Debbie. Tom agreed.

“You shouldn’t have jobs,” he carried on. “You should have a career.”
What a charmer, he is!
But as ever when it comes to Tom Waterhouse, it all sounds a bit too good to be true, and viewers were quick to spot what they thought Tom’s up to.

Would Debbie’s portfolio include her own family’s house? Their farm is right where the access road to Tom’s fancy golf club would be and at the moment, he really, really needs a way to persuade them to sell up.
“Tom is going to put the Dingle property portfolio into Debbie’s hands without her knowing,” one clever viewer speculated. “She’ll then be accused of betraying the family.”
And another agreed it was all looking very suspicious.
“Debbie falling deeper into Tom’s trap,” the fan wrote.
As to whether there’s more to this whole golf club development than meets the eye, that remains to be seen – but it’s fairly obvious Debbie’s flash new job isn’t going to work out well!
