Emmerdale’s “brave” Charity finally exposes DI Bails in “phenomenal” scenes

Fans were overwhelmed...

Emmerdale fans have praised actress Emma Atkins for her portrayal of Charity Dingle after “chilling” scenes were aired last night (Tuesday 8 May).

ITV viewers watched with their hearts in their mouths as Charity FINALLY released her emotions and attempted to expose rapist DI Bails for the monster he is.

While we didn’t get the outcome we hoped for – Bails in jail forever paying for his crimes – soap fans did get some satisfaction from the scenes as Charity found her inner warrior.

After yet another threat from Bails to keep her mouth shut, Charity pondered her predicament, while Bails headed to a conference about respecting and protecting vulnerable women.

As he got up infront of his colleagues, supporters and Emmerdale residents, he began his speech about the sexual exploitation awareness campaign… Only to see Charity standing at the back with a face of fury. Go Charity!

Clapping loudly from the back, Charity finally gave Bails a piece of her mind, blasting: “All women count, yeah? Except me? If I counted for anything, you wouldn’t have hurt me?”

She seethed: “[…] I was like these idiots. I thought you were a hero; somebody who wanted to help me, to save me. But you thought it would be much more fun to keep me locked away for months. Your little plaything. Just for you and your paying mates.”

As a horrified Bails offered to get her help, Charity lost it, saying: “That’s what you said the last time. And then you raped me, didn’t you? Over and over, when I was just a kid.”

After throwing his hush money in his face, she was escorted from the premises shouting: “You’re going to pay now Bails, you’re going to pay.”

Over the past few weeks, fans have watched Charity come to terms with the re-emergence of the detective, who groomed and raped her when she was just 14. So it’s understandable that ITV viewers whooped at Charity’s tirade against the bent copper.

They praised actress Emma for the emotional scenes, calling her “incredible” and demanding she receive a Best Actress award.

“Emma Atkins is such an amazing actress,” one fan commented, while another agreed: “Emma is absolutely smashing this storyline.”

Another said: “Did NOT expect that. Charity Dingle take a [bleep] bow. Emma Atkins take a [bleep] bow.”

A third wrote: “Wow Charity. So so Brave PLEASE SOMEONE BELIEVE HER!!!”

However, there’s still a long road ahead for Charity and justice isn’t quite around the corner yet. In fact, the law once again takes Bails side at first as she’s taken into custody.

But at least one person in the conference believes what Charity said – and that’s a start.

Bails’ walls have started to crumble down – and Charity has a sledgehammer!
