Impressed viewers reckon Jack Whitehall could step into Graham Norton’s shoes again – and even present his BBC One chat show permanently.
The 30-year-old comic took the reins for last night’s episode of Graham’s long-running series while the regular host, 56, fronts the Beeb’s coverage of Eurovision from Israel.
Fans loved Jack’s presence from the opening moments of the show as he pantomimed in a skit as if he was unaware he would be filling in and also how he interacted with guests David Williams, Peter Crouch, Gwendoline Christie and Luke Evans
Indeed, Jack was such a hit as he became the show’s first guest host ever in its 24 series run that many took to social media to express just how much they’d like the posho stand up to have a similar light entertainment vehicle of his own.

“Sorry but the Graham Norton show is much more funnier with @jackwhitehall at the helm. Please get a talk show of your own and take over the telly!” commented one fan on Twitter.
Another tweeted in agreement: “@jackwhitehall needs his own chat show! He is smashing it tonight! #grahamnortonshow.”
And a third added: “@jackwhitehall is utterly brilliant at this… Get him his own talk show!!!!! #grahamnortonshow.”
However, it turns out that several viewers are not all that fussed about Graham hurrying back from Tel Aviv – and believe Jack might just as well take over the series named after the five-time BAFTA TV award winner!

One suggested: “Maybe Jack Whitehall should take over from Graham Norton full time…”
Another remarked: @jackwhitehall should take over from @TheGNShow permanently he lets the guest speak and was very funny. @bbc more please.”
And a third enthused: “@jackwhitehall should take over #GrahamNorton show permanently, as long as we get to hear the whole story about that festival from his mum.”
Speaking earlier this month when his stand in was announced, Graham joked he hoped Jack would not enjoy his stint as a substitute too much.
The Dublin-born star said: “I should warn him not to get too comfortable in my chair, though, because like a slightly fey terminator, I’ll be back!”
