This Morning viewers were crying with laughter when Holly and Phil dialled a wrong number and ‘lost’ their competition winner.
The winner of the show’s £5000 prize was a Mrs Ashman, but when Holly and Phil phoned to tell her Alison Hammond was knocking on her door, they dialled the wrong number.
Instead of warning Mrs Ashman that a camera crew was about to arrive, they spoke to a very confused Eva Smithers, who had no idea what was going on.
“Is there someone knocking on your door?” Phil asked, and bewildered Mrs Smithers had to say there was no one outside her house.

Meanwhile, Alison Hammond had tracked down Mrs Ashman at her house in Broadstairs to hand over the cash.
“There’s a lovely lady out there somewhere who hasn’t won,” Alison said, as she gave the winner her prize.

But there was some good news in store for Mrs Smithers. Holly and Phil phoned her back after the mix-up and gave her a prize of her own.
“You’ve just won £1000 for Christmas!” Phil said.
And (luckily!) Mrs Smithers was delighted.
“I love you both,” she said – much to Phil and Holly’s relief!

“TV gold,” one fan called it. While another said it was the “funniest mistake” ever.
