Walford met Westeros this week, when a character from Game Of Thrones turned up in EastEnders.

TV fans couldn’t believe their eyes, when they realised the hitman hired by Mick Carter was played by GOT star Kevin Eldon.

Comedian Kevin, 58, has appeared in three episodes of the HBO epic serial drama, as well as Knowing Me, Knowing You With Alan Partridge, Hot Fuzz, and Decline And Fall.

One delighted social media user wrote: “The fact that the wonderful Kevin Eldon is trending due to his surprise guest appearance in EastEnders is proof – if proof be need be – that he’s one of the most beloved comedy actors in Britain. In France they’d build a statue of him.”

Another said: “Well, that was the greatest bit of casting ever #EastEnders #KevinEldon.”

In last night’s EastEnders (Tuesday 6 March), Kevin portrayed hitman Victor, who met with Mick Carter in The Queen Vic.

He won over fans with his gentle approach to killing – calling all his victims Derek.

“I’ve never met a nice Derek,” he revealed.

Mick Carter has been driven to consider the desperate act of hiring a hitman, after villain Aidan put petrol through the letterbox, soaking Ollie Carter with the dangerous liquid.

But when Linda put a stop to the plan, Victor said the Carters had made the right decision.
