It’s not set to be a very Good Friday for Coronation Street’s villain du jour Pat Phelan and his (currently) oblivious wife Eileen, as the truth about the murdering builder is set to come out tonight.
Here’s what to expect from the action-packed double-bill of episodes!
You’ll have renewed hatred for Phelan
Even before he’s revealed as a multi-murderer Phelan is just HORRIBLE to Eileen and you’ll end up wishing he’d just disappear on his fishing boat and leave her alone.
He’s actually trying to leave Eileen now he knows it’s only a matter of time before his deadly deeds catch up with him, but she doesn’t know this and just wants her husband to spend some time with her on their holiday.
You’ll hide behind your cushion/hands/dog/significant other
One thing the soap’s show-runner Kate Oates does brilliantly is hide-behind-your-hand horror scenes that wouldn’t look out of place in a scary movie. Remember when Emmerdale’s Cameron Murray popped up menacingly in the water behind Debbie Dingle? That was Kate Oates’ work. So expect very similar stuff in tonight’s Corrie.
The scene is set – it’s dark, it’s windy, there’s water – so will anyone make it out alive?
You’ll want to give Sue Cleaver and Connor McIntrye a standing ovation
They are both SO GOOD tonight. Connor will make you SCREAM at your TV and you’ll be cheering Eileen on as she confronts her deadly husband and accuses him of being a murderer, a liar and a rapist.
But you’ll also be telling her to run away because he’ll kill you if he needs to, Eileen.
You’ll curse whatever mobile network Eileen is on
It’s just piggin’ typical that the very moment she needs 4G to be working it isn’t. Yet when she really could do with it dropping out she’s got full signal.
If she makes it out alive, Eileen should probably consider changing network provider.
You’ll be left scratching your head

OBVIOUSLY we don’t want to give too much away because if you’ve followed Phelan’s story to this point, you’ll want to watch in unravel on your screens tonight BUT we will tell you that there a few revelations, bombshells and cliff hangers which will make you question everything.
Intriguing, right?
