Jo is perhaps most famous for playing Natalie Crouch in BBC sitcom The Crouches from 2003 to 2005, but she’s also starred in Birds of a Feather, The Bill, Doctors, Jonathan Creek and Fleabag.
Most recently she starred as Janice in Back To Life, a BBC3 comedy about a woman who returns to her hometown after spending most of her adult life in jail for murder.
She’s also appeared in EastEnders as Judy Mackintosh in 2014, and has appeared in three episodes of Casualty as two different characters.

In 2002, she starred as WDS Bridgeman in two episodes, and returned again more than 10 years later to portray Vicky Lambert in 2013.
We’ve been told that Jo arrives in Holby to visit a patient and is noticed by Ric Griffin, who asks her to hang around for a little longer.
But, little does she know that her task involves a potential risk…
Sharing her excitement, Jo said: “I am thrilled to be joining such an amazing show, which I have been a fan of for years. Playing Max will be a pleasure; she is very complex with no filter.”
While Simon Harper, executive producer of Holby City and Casualty, said: “Jo is a fabulous addition to the Holby gang, both a hugely talented dramatic actor and comedian.
“She’s been on our admiring radar for some time while we thought up the right part for her.
“Max is a brilliant, multi-faceted character worthy of her gifts: wry, funny, passionately driven and with no patience whatsoever for political correctness, or ‘snowflakes’ as she calls them.”

He continued: “So Holby’s staff had better watch out. Professionally, her story will explore highly topical questions about the future of the NHS, while her personal life becomes increasingly turbulent.”
Jo has already begun filming and is set to appear on screen later this autumn.
