She fell face first onto the ice last night

Gemma Collins’ boyfriend James ‘Arg’ Argent feared she was unconscious after she fell face first on last night’s Dancing On Ice.

The former TOWIE star, 37, took a tumble towards the end of her routine and fought back tears as she awaited the judges’ scores.

After the show, Arg shared a snap of himself, Gemma and her professional skating partner Matt Evers on the ice.

Arg wrote: “I LOVE YOU @gemmacollins1.

“When I saw her fall like that face first I honestly thought she might be unconscious or lost some teeth! The way she got up & carried on was AMAZING!!!”

He added: “You worked so hard this week GC & have done us so proud! You’ve improved so much!”

Fans rushed to offer their support to Gemma.

One person said: “She is a great example of determination! Pick yourself up, dust yourself down and carry on.”

Another wrote: “You should be so proud of yourself Gemma you’re doing great,” while a third commented: “Gemma you were brilliant to get up after such a fall and carry on. Well done.”

During Sunday night’s show, Arg spoke to hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield about Gemma’s fall.

Asked by the duo how he felt when he saw his girlfriend fall, Arg said: “My heart completely sank.

“I’ve just been with her backstage. She’s crying her eyes out, she feels embarrassed.

“She is in pain, she’s got ice packs on her knees.

“I just said to her ‘you showed everyone how hard you really did work this week, and no matter what, you’ve got up and carried on’.

“I’ve just got to say quickly that if she’s in the bottom two tonight, if she goes home, I’m so proud of her. I love her so much.”

Gemma received her highest score of the series for her routine despite the fall.

Judge Ashley Banjo told her: “I was gutted for you but you still got out what you put in, and that was your best skate.”

Jason Gardiner added: “When you drop the ‘GC’ and you apply yourself, you improve. My only concern is if there is enough improvement and can you catch up with the celebrities who are well ahead of you?”

Dancing On Ice is on ITV every Sunday.
