With hopes of greatness for Girlfriends (after all it is written by the great Kay Mellor), it seems that it wasn’t quite as brilliant as some people actually wanted it to be.
Well, not according to social media anyway.
Fans took to Twitter last night, with some more disappointed than others…

But it wasn’t all bad news, others were loving the show…
For those of you not in the know, the six part series ended last night with Sue, Gail and Linda arriving in Spain to identify Linda’s husband Mickey.
Not the nicest task for anyone.
But the girls were determined to make the most of their trip abroad.
So Gail and Sue were quite stunned, when they found out that Linda has been keeping secrets from them for a long time about her marriage to Mickey.
Well, an abusive husband is not something a woman wants to shout about, maybe not until she can’t take anymore.
Unfortunately for Linda, after going to the mortuary, it turned out that Mickey was actually alive.
But after hearing what has been happening to their friend, the girls set about poisoning Mickey, in a bid to finally free Linda from her turbulent marriage.

Obviously their ‘putting an end to the problem’ doesn’t go without a hitch, but after stuffing the body into a Louis Vuitton suitcase (who wastes a LV bag like that???) they dump it in the sea.
But if that wasn’t making you shout at the TV screen, there was more.
Celebrating the end of their traumatic trip, the girls grab a drink on the beach, only for the camera to pan away to the sea to show a very recognisable item bobbing up and down in the sea.
Was Mickey still alive? Would there be another series?
