GMB today: Martin Lewis hits back at poppy complaint

The money-saving expert was having none of it

Martin Lewis snapped back at a viewer on GMB today who complained about his poppy.

The 49-year-old joined Susanna Reid as guest host on the ITV show today (November 8).

Both of the stars were wearing British Legion poppies as a symbol of Remembrance.

However, one viewer felt so strongly about Martin supposedly wearing his wrong that they tweeted into the show to complain.

Martin saw the tweet and decided to call the viewer out on live television.

ITV’s Martin Lewis calls out viewer on GMB today

He said: “Someone got in touch to say that my poppy leaf apparently should be at 11 o’clock, not 7 o’clock. Now, the British legion says what counts – and there’s no specific rule – is that you wear it with pride.

“But if you’re really so bothered about where my leaf was, just to make you happy I’ve moved it for you.”

Meanwhile, an array of guest hosts are set to present GMB over the coming weeks.

Former Labour shadow chancellor Ed Balls and TV judge Robert Rinder have both signed up to guest host the show.

Ed, 54, will make his first appearance on Monday, November 15. Meanwhile, he’ll be followed by ITV star Judge Rinder who will appear on November 10 and December 1.

However, GMB could soon be set to have a permanent replacement for Piers Morgan.

It was recently reported that Richard Madeley landed a £300,000 deal to permanently present the show after “hitting it off” with co-host Susanna.

However, there’s apparently a big catch.

He’ll get more appearances every week if he manages to win I’m A Celebrity next month (December).

A source told The Sun: “He’ll initially appear in the hot-seat twice a week, but if he’s a huge success and becomes a fan favourite in the I’m A Celeb castle or he’s crowned king, expect that to increase to three or four days.”

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV
