GMB viewers were left seriously distracted by Richard Bacon’s home during an interview today (Thursday, 2 December).
Many viewers were saying the same thing about the 46-year-old presenter’s LA home – that it looked like a prison!
Why was Richard Bacon on GMB today?
The former Blue Peter presenter appeared on Good Morning Britain today to talk about cancel culture and how it can affect reputations.
Richard himself was ‘cancelled’ back in 1998 when he was sacked from his role on Blue Peter for illicit drug use. However, his career survived. Richard has since gone on to host GMB a few times.

Richard Bacon appeared on GMB today to promote his new documentary which airs on Channel 4 tonight. In the documentary, Richard is set to look at the so-called ‘cancel culture’ that is prevalent today.
GMB showed a clip from his new show, in which he talks to comedian Jimmy Carr about being ‘cancelled’.
Richard then went on to talk about his own experience of being cancelled when he lost his job at Blue Peter.
What did Richard Bacon say about ‘cancel culture’?
He revealed that Andi Peters gave him the second chance his career needed, making him host of The Big Breakfast in 1999.
“The phrase cancel culture has only been around for two-and-a-half to three years,” the presenter explains. “It feels like it’s been around for a decade.”
He then went on to say that what he went through following his sacking from Blue Peter was a “version of a cancellation”.
Richard Bacon then said: “You do need someone to have faith in you, to know that you can change, to put their arm around you, and support you, and that is what Andi did.”
However, some fans on Twitter were less interested in what Richard had to say and more interested in where he was saying it from.
What did viewers on Twitter say about Richard’s bedroom?
Viewers had plenty to say about the bedroom in Richard’s home in LA.
“Why does Richard Bacon’s bedroom look like a freshly painted prison cell?” one confused viewer asked.
“Is Richard Bacon in Shawshank prison?” another GMB viewer quipped.

“Richard, grab the sink and throw it out the window and escape,” another viewer joked. They posted a gif of Jack Nicholson in ‘One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest’ alongside their tweet too.
The presenter said he would be back on GMB around the new year, so viewers aren’t going to get many more glimpses of his ‘prison cell’ bedroom from now on!
Richard Bacon’s documentary, Cancelled, airs on Channel 4 tonight at 10pm.
