Viewers of Good Morning Britain were left up in arms after a debate between former Apprentice contestant Joanna Jarjue and Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s dad, Stanley.
Joanna, 23, argued that the voting age should be cut off at 70.
Her comments provoked fury from social media users who called her a “disgrace”.

GMB co-host Susanna Reid began the debate by saying that Joanna’s argument – that the voting age should be cut off at aged 70 – was ‘literally ageist’.
Joanna, who appeared on series 13 of The Apprentice, then said: “I think there’s a fine line. We know there’s a generational divide in terms of those who voted leave and those who voted to remain, predominantly.
“I think with older people, the argument that I usually hear is ‘We’ve gone through two world wars, we can survive whatever happens next with Brexit.'”
She continued: “I think for me and for people in my generation, when we’re thinking about buying a house, all the things that are harder for us that were a little bit easier in your generation Stanley.
“I think for a lot of older people and pensioners, you’ve been through a period where it was cheaper for you to buy houses, your wages were better.
“But we are trying to withstand things that are so much harder than your generation, so to put Brexit on top of that, and see that the younger generation predominantly didn’t want it.”
Stanley, who is 79, argued back by saying that the older generation “can be held responsible”.
“It’s up to the older generation to man up!” he exclaimed.
It wasn’t long that Joanna’s views were met with fury on Twitter.

Sat watching @joannajarjue on @GMB banging on about how people over 70 shouldn’t be allowed to vote and that younger people have it tougher these days. I worry about our future generations if people like this are around. The elderly have just as much right to vote as youngsters.
