Ben Shepherd swapped his usual shiny shoes for a pair of flip flops on Thursday’s Good Morning Britain.
With temperatures soaring in Britain, the show held a discussion on what is appropriate for people to wear to work during the heatwave.
To examine whether it’s a good idea to wear summer shoes to work, Ben, 43, rocked up to work sporting a navy suit and a pair of black flip flops.

Ben said: “I’ve got flip flops on… quite a few people have noticed these.
“I don’t usually get my hooves out for anyone, just for you today.”
Ben and co-host Kate Garraway were then joined by etiquette expert Liz Brewer and radio presenter Emma B.
While Liz believes workers should always look smart, Emma thinks employees should be able to wear what they want in the heat.
As Ben flashed his foot, Liz said she was “very surprised” to see him in the unusual footwear.
She said: “I think a pedicure might have helped!”
But Emma thought Ben’s choice of footwear was “fabulous”.
During the discussion, Liz said: “As an employee, you need to show respect to the person who is paying your [wages].”
Ben hit back: “But Liz you have open-toe shoes on, men can’t do that. Men don’t get to wear sandals.”
And it wasn’t just the panel that were divided over Ben’s footwear.
The show’s official Twitter page shared a snap of Ben’s flip flops with the caption: “With the hot weather continuing this week, do you think it’s ok to wear less to work?
“@BenShephard decided to rock up with flip flops this morning!”
Some viewers called Ben’s choice of footwear “unprofessional”.
