GMB’s Charlotte Hawkins responds to Piers Morgan’s Strictly curse claims

Does she even believe in the curse?

As if getting up at 3am every day for work, dealing with a two-year-old and now adding Strictly Come Dancing rehearsals isn’t enough, Good Morning Britain’s Charlotte Hawkins also has to put up with colleague Piers Morgan first thing in the morning!

The 42-year-old news reporter had to sit and endure Piers as he tried to wind her up about the infamous Strictly curse and her dance partner Brendan Cole.

52-year-old Piers, asked Charlotte “Are you worried about the Strictly curse? You and Brendan will be up close for hours a day… When the old Paso Doble starts to kick in…” he gleefully teased.

But Charlotte, flashing her famous smile, laughed and said “No we’re going to be dancing together. That’s what it’s about, the dancing.”

Even GMB viewers had to laugh.

To which Charlotte replied…

The mum of one has been happily married to husband Mark since 2008 and they have daughter Ella Rose together.

And although now loved up with his wife Zoe, Charlotte’s dance partner Brendan was known for his love of the ladies, particularly after rumours of a Strictly romance with series one winner Natasha Kaplinsky.

But Charlotte does not seem fazed by the amount of time she will be spending with the 41-year-old New Zealander, as well as working and being able to see her family.

“It will be a bit of a juggling act but it depends how long,” she told Express.co.uk. “You don’t know how long it’s going to last for!”

But at least Charlotte will have some good sources of advice, as some of her fellow GMB presenters have also donned the sequins of Strictly.

“The nice thing is having Susanna (Reid), Kate (Garraway) and Richard (Arnold) who have been through it before, it’s great to have them and have their advice.”

“They just said you’ve got to throw yourself into it and love every minute.”
