Gogglebox star signs up for all-female Celebrity Big Brother

Her best friend talked her into it...

Gogglebox favourite Sandra Martin has been persuaded by best friend Sandi to appear on the new series of Celebrity Big Brother.

Sandi was a huge hit with viewers when she appeared on the channel 5 show earlier this year.

And after enjoying being on the show so much, she now wants her best friend to follow in her footsteps for the new all-female line up.

The friends, who have known each other for over 40 years, shot to fame when they appeared on Channel 4’s hit show Gogglebox.

Their hilarious friendship had viewers glued to their screens until Sandi left the show and was replaced by Sandra’s daughter, Chanchez – only for Sandra to quit months later.

A source close to the pair told The Sun Online: “Sandra is heading into the house – she’s heard a lot about it from Sandi and after Sandi’s success on the show, she wants to try it out herself.

“She’s outgoing, not afraid to speak her mind and wants to grow her profile, so she’ll be great in the house. Sandi told her it’s one of the best things she’s ever done.”

The new series of Celebrity Big Brother will hit our screens in the new year – and bosses have said that the all female line-up, something that has never been done before in the show’s history, is to mark 100 years since wonen won the right to vote in Britain.

Celebrity Big Brother insiders have revealed that male celebrities will join the house at a later date – after viewers have watched to see how the women all interact with each other.

The news of Sandra’s next big break comes after reports that she has been sacked from pants amid claims that she arrived on stage drunk.

The Gogglebox star was signed up to play Spirit of the Ring in Aladin but will not be returning to the production due to ‘health reasons’ according to The Sun.
