Good Morning Britain: Bobby Davro ‘drunk’ as he promotes alcohol support charity

He appeared alongside Jim Davidson

Viewers of Good Morning Britain were divided today after the show interviewed comedians Jim Davidson and Bobby Davro.

Appearing on this morning’s (17.09.19) episode, Bobby told hosts Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid that he was still “drunk” after a heavy night out with Jim.

The funnyman was on to talk about Care after Combat, a charity that supports veterans struggling with alcoholism and substance abuse.

Bobby said as the interview got underway: “I’m still drunk from last night!”

Piers, laughing, replied: “You are. You’re struggling, aren’t you?”

Bobby told him, “I’m struggling, I have to be honest with you” and admitted he “can’t remember” where he went with Jim.

A number of viewers weren’t impressed, with one writing on Twitter: “#GMB Davidson and Davro, Jesus this is embarrassing. Imagine being out for the night and these two latching on to you and ‘entertaining’ you?”

Another tweeted: “#gmb – Jim Davidson? Bobby Davro? Dinosaur Hour coming right up.”

A third put: “Perfect example of the overuse of the word ‘legend’. @piersmorgan’s just used it to describe Jim Davidson and Bobby Davro, wtaf.”

A fourth viewer, fuming over Bobby joking about still being drunk while promoting a charity, said: “So Bobby Davro comes on #GMB to talk about supporting our veterans bragging about still being drunk from the night before. Should be so proud of himself.”

But not everyone was turned off, as someone wrote: Great craic seeing Jim Davidson and Bobby Davro half-pissed on #GMB ya rockets!”

Bobby was last on the programme earlier this year to chat about his old pal Freddie Starr, who passed away in May at his home in Spain.

He revealed that Freddie had turned down a chance to meet up in 2018 as he had “not been too well” and thought he might have been “one of the last people to speak to” the reclusive comedian.

Chatting with hosts Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway, Bobby said: “I want to remember the Freddie we all knew. Rest in peace, Freddie. He was fantastic.”
