Breakfast TV viewers were stunned earlier today after an eye-opening segment featuring Good Morning Britain hosts Kate Garraway and Richard Arnold.
Ahead of an ad break, the presenters were seen sitting at a pottery wheel in positions similar to that of Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore in Ghost, soundtracked – like the film – with The Righteous Brothers’ ‘Unchained Melody’.
But the first image viewers were confronted with was an extreme close-up of the somewhat suggestive clay shape Kate was moulding with her hands – and for many of those watching at home, it was a bit much.
“This is strangely relaxing, isn’t it?” giggled Kate as Richard attempted to preview an upcoming interview with Hollywood pottery enthusiasts.

However, Kate lost control of her artistic creation and it spun out of control with pieces flying off the wheel and onto the studio floor.
Barely able to speak because of her laughter, Kate apologised and insisted: “There is method in this madness!”
But she soon seemed to despair as Richard struggled to get his words out, adding: “Help me, help me! Run for your lives. I’m doomed.”
“You had one job!” chuckled Richard as Kate tried in vain to rescue her effort.

She replied, still in hysterics: “I know. The tip flew off!”
Viewers were split over the presenting pair’s antics, but many were not impressed.
“A phallic lump of clay at 7am. Anyone think that could be a tad inappropriate ?” questioned one observer on Twitter.
“Inappropriate to say the least,” commented a second.
A third harrumphed: “And all before the watershed, disgusting.”
“I don’t find this funny,” announced another viewer.
And another person complained: “How ridiculous…. this show is steadily going downhill…. where’s the remote?”
Other viewers suggested this would never happen on holidaying presenter Piers Morgan’s watch.
“Turned off GMB for good now until September,” tutted one person.
Another pleaded: “Bring Piers back, we cannot take much more of this.”
And another outraged viewer seethed: “This needs reporting to @Ofcom. Disgusting innuendo isn’t what families want on their TV in the mornings.”
However, it turns out some people may want this kind of humour to accompany their bowl of cornflakes.
“So funny,” tittered one approving viewer.
“Hilarious,” agreed another.
“Watching this this morning, so funny,” commented another viewer on Twitter.
And a fourth added: “Bloody hysterical! What a great way to start my day watching these two make a giant…”

Another person added: “Howling while on the treadmill! Nearly fell off! Not that I’ve a dirty mind but that looks rude! Or maybe I have!”
“Laughed and laughed and laughed!! When you create a giant??? Made my morning,” another tickled person contributed.
And another person concluded: “Funniest thing I’ve seen all morning #notrude #GMB #morning.”
