The Great British Bake Off viewers reacted furiously when the show revealed it was delaying its start time tonight (Tuesday September 22).
The show moved quickly to change the time because the series opener would’ve clashed with Boris Johnson’s address to the nation.

Why is Great British Bake Off moving?
Viewers couldn’t wait for the hit baking show to start after a loner-than-usual wait because of the coronavirus.
Now, after adapting the show’s famous tent into a COVID-secure bubble, Channel 4 decided to push back the start time to avoid the clash.

Prime Minister Johnson is due to address the nation to lay out the new guidelines and restrictions revealed today.
That means viewers will have to wait a bit longer to meet this year’s 12 new bakers – the series will start at 8.15pm instead of 8pm as originally advertised.
Boris Johnson also received an angry response
Mr Johnson received a furious response after revealing the new restrictions today.
Just weeks ago his government urged people to get back to work.
But now – in the wake of a huge upsurge in COVID cases – he has performed what people have called a “complete ‘U-turn”.
Earlier in the House Of Commons, Mr Johnson also installed a 10pm curfew on pubs and restaurants.
He’s due to address the nation tonight to outline the restrictions.
What did viewers saw about the delay?
Viewers were quick to share their angry views about the show’s delay.
“Oh god, Boris screwing this up too?” one asked.
Another said: “Bloody Boris!”
As long as it doesn’t go past 10 pm….
A third asked: “Is nothing sacred?”
Finally, one commenter joked: “As long as it doesn’t go past 10 pm….”
What else did Boris Johnson say?
Earlier in the House Of Commons Mr Johnson revealed that the new restriction would last up to six months.
He also said that if numbers don’t come down, he would not be afraid to take further action.

“This is the moment where we must act…” he told the House.
The new restrictions, he insisted, do not amount to a full lockdown.
The Great British Bake Off begins at 8.15pm on Channel 4 tonight (Tuesday September 22)
