TV chef Gregg Wallace fought back tears as he opened up about life as an “old dad”.
The MasterChef star, 54, and his wife Anne-Marie, 32, recently welcomed their first son Sid into the world.
Appearing on ITV’s Loose Women, Gregg found himself welling up as he spoke about fatherhood.
Telling the panel that he brought his eldest children up “as a single dad”, Gregg spoke about the bond his older kids share with new arrival Sid.
Revealing that his grown-up children Tom and Libby were “at the hospital when their baby brother was born”, Gregg added: “Do you know what my son said? He said: ‘The little boy, Sid, he’s a lucky boy,’ and I said: ‘Why? His dad’s old.'”
Welling up, Gregg continued: “And he said: ‘That’s alright Dad, he’s got me.'”

Clearly thrilled with the support from his kids, Gregg revealed he that he won’t rule out the possibility of becoming a father again in the future.
Asked about the possibility of having another child, Gregg told the panel: “We said only one, but honestly now…”
The chef admitted that he has had to give it some serious thought because, by the time his newborn baby turns 20, he’ll be in his mid-70s.
He added: “Well, I did say to Anne-Marie I wasn’t sure because, by the time you’re my age, normally your children have grown up and you can have time with your wife again. I’m going to be in my 70s when Sid’s 20.”
However, Gregg revealed he has the support of his wife’s family from Italy – with his mother-in-law currently living them and his father-in-law on his way.
He also explained how the family dynamic will work, with Anne-Marie looking after the baby at home while he continues to work.

He said: “My wife is very, very old fashioned and we had a chat about what our roles were going to be when the baby came along. It was decided that I’m the provider and I should stay providing.”
Gregg added: “I’m not arguing the pluses and minuses, and it works really well.”
Anne-Marie fell pregnant with Sid last summer, shortly before the pair were due to start treatment to help them conceive, having spent years trying for a baby.
When they announced they were expecting, Gregg said: “We were due to start IVF but then it happened naturally after two years of trying. The doctor told us it was a miracle Anne-Marie was pregnant.”
