Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield enjoyed savouring some sweet treats on offer during today’s This Morning – so much so they forgot they were on air!
The presenters were teasing a forthcoming cookery segment on how to make a “sconut” – a hybrid of a doughnut and a scone – when hosting duties during the live broadcast went out the window.
They became so absorbed in the delicious bakes they’d been provided with as props – including cronuts (a cross between croissant and a doughnut) and a cruffin (a cross between a croissant and a muffin) they became oblivious to the cameras.
Holly amused herself by pulling apart a cruffin to see what was inside, while Phillip tucked into a mango cronut and urged her to try it.
They then bickered as Holly refused to taste it as she doesn’t like custard.
“It’s mango! You’ll like this” he told her.
“Mango custard!” she replied.

The cameras then switched to chef Juliette Sear as Holly introduced her as the chef who would be teaching them how to cook the sconut later.
But she appeared similarly oblivious to the live broadcast and was instead checking her frying pans.
“Sorry I was just checking on the fryer!” she said, leaping to attention as she realised she was on air.
This caused Holly and Phil to burst into laughter as Phil said: “It’s one of those moments where we have all forgotten we are on the telly!”
Composing herself, Holly said they should cross over to the Loose Women to see what was on their show today, “as they know they are on the telly.”
Later in the show, the tasty snacks proved a distraction again when Juliette gave a cookery demonstration.
Phil pointed out that Holly had asked for a “doughnut wall” when she’d heard the segment would be on, and her wish was granted as the team had created one in their studio kitchen.
Despite being about to try Juliette’s creations, Holly couldn’t resist taking an iced version straight off the wall with her mouth to the amusement of Phil, who she then shared it with.
The pair then had to be asked to help Juliette out cutting the sconuts.
“Well, I’ve kind of got my hands full at the moment!” Phil joked as he tucked into his doughnut.

It seems like This Morning need to avoid having tasty treats around Holly and Phil in the future as it’s too much of a distraction!
Phil later admitted they were giddy from the “sugar rush!”
We just love these two!
