Phillip Schofield had to correct Alison Hammond during Wednesday’s This Morning after she made a blunder on air.
Alison was reporting live from the Cannes Film Festival to give viewers an insight into the lavish festival.
But while talking to Holly and Phil, Alison mispronounced the name of the Palme d’Or, the highest prize awarded at the film festival, as she called the gong a par d’or.

During her segment, Alison showed viewers the bejewelled award.
“The reason why the films are here is to win one of these,” she said, unveiling the award. “This is the par d’or. I can’t even touch it, I’m not allowed.
“It’s made of gold and crystal.”
As the show returned to Holly and Phil in the studio, a smirking Phil had a little message for Alison.
“Something I just want to clear up here when you win in Cannes,” he said. “There is a small town in Cornwall near St Austell called Par…
“If you win at the Cannes Film Festival, you win two things: their highly prestigious doors in the town of Par. And the gift that was in that box which is called the Palme d’Or.”
Holly was left giggling as Alison looked slightly baffled.
“What Alison was telling you is completely correct,” Phil told viewers. “It’s the Par door.”
“Alison, are you getting what he’s saying here?” Holly asked the presenter.
“No she’s not,” Phil cut in, laughing. “It’s the Palme d’Or!”
Alison was left in hysterics after realising her gaffe as she said: “Palme d’Or? Palme d’Or! I’m fluent in French.”
Meanwhile in her segment, Alison announced she’s landed a role in hollywood movie Hotel Translyvania 3: A Monster Vacation.
The star revealed she will be the voice behind one of the characters.
“I’m being serious – a lot of people think I’m joking around – I’ve actually got in a Hollywood movie!” she excitedly told Holly and Phil.
“It’s Hotel Transylvania 3: A Monster Vacation – so it’s just my voice. It’s an animation film. It’s the third film.”
Revealing details about her character, Alison continued: “She’s beautiful, she’s got a sexy body, red hair and I’m going to have a love affair with Adam Sandler’s character.”
Alison admitted she’s “quite nervous” about her role in the film because it’s “serious.”

“Can’t wait to see it,” Phil said. “This is your big break! You mess this up and it’s all over but if you get this right, then you’re on your way!”
“This is going to be in the cinemas guys, this is big,” Alison added.
