We’re all patiently waiting to see who will be the replacement for Holly Willoughby on This Morning while names are being thrown into the mix left, right and centre. Well, I am anyway!
The likes of Alison Hammond, Josie Gibson and Rochelle Humes have been tipped to land the role. But more recently, two other names have been added to the line… Steph McGovern and Storm Huntley.
Here’s all the rumoured names ranked, in my opinion, and who I think is the perfect fit for Holly’s former This Morning job.
Who will replace Holly Willoughby on This Morning?
Josie Gibson
My top choice for Holly’s replacement is Josie Gibson. She’s fun, she’s bubbly and she knows what she’s doing. She’s been a part of the show for years and viewers absolutely love her – hard not to!
I think she brings an ease to the show and has a great rapport and chemistry with almost all of her co-hosts. While she can bring a light-hearted feel to the show, she’s also able to switch to more serious segments. And she’s definitely earned the spot after all of those rollercoasters she’s endured and those ridiculous costumes she’s had to put on!
I think the Bristolian babe deserves that top spot on the This Morning sofa. This Morning bosses, you wouldn’t regret it!
Alison Hammond
Alison Hammond has had a main presenting role on the show for the last couple of years, hosting Fridays with Dermot O’Leary. More recently, she’s taken on a bigger role during the week following Holly’s exit.
Despite receiving mixed reaction from viewers when she first took on the hosting role, I think she’s now a treasured fixture on the sofa. She’s grown on viewers and her partnership with Dermot has gone from strength to strength. She knows when to bring the fun, and she knows when to get serious.
If Alison did take on Holly’s role, not much would change on the show and that may be welcomed by viewers who have had enough upheaval this year!
Could Alison and Dermot be the new Holly and Phil? I think so!

Steph McGovern
Now while some viewers may be dreading any more change to This Morning, others may be welcome to a complete overhaul.
Steph McGovern has recently faced pleas from fans to replace Holly on the show following the axing of her daytime programme Steph’s Packed Lunch.
Channel 4 has decided not to renew the show, leaving viewers pretty fuming. But could things be looking up for Steph and could she be drafted in by ITV? I certainly would love to see it! She’s a natural presenter, she’s got plenty of daytime experience and she’s more than qualified for the role.
And let’s not forget, Steph is hugely popular – as the fallout from the Channel 4 axing has solidly proven!
Ruth Langsford
Ruth Langsford is no stranger to This Morning, having previously hosted the Friday slot with her husband Eamonn Holmes before Alison and Dermot took over.
Following Holly’s exit, many fans have begged Ruth to come back and bookies have predicted a return for her. She recently addressed the speculation, telling Woman&Home: “If ITV said, ‘Would you come and do a week on This Morning?’ and if I was free and it was with the right person, I probably would do it.”
While I love Ruth, I can’t see her replacing Holly on the show. I think she’s better fitted doing the odd return over the summer.
Rochelle Humes
While bookies have placed Rochelle Humes high on the list to replace Holly, I don’t think she’s the best fit.
She’s a regular on the daytime show and has stood in for Holly many times. But I personally think the likes of Josie and Alison bring much more to the programme compared to Rochelle. Judging by viewer comments too, Rochelle seems to get a divisive reception…
I have to admit, I wouldn’t be tuning in each morning if Rochelle was announced as the permanent host. Soz!

Holly Willoughby replacement
Storm Huntley
I do feel a tad mean putting Storm Huntley at the bottom of the list even though she’s been rumoured to take over from Holly. Reports have claimed that the Jeremy Vine star has been tipped to join This Morning.
She recently broke her silence on the rumours, sharing an article of the claims and writing: “Well it’s certainly been quite the day. First I get sent this… Very flattering but I think there may be a scheduling issue there.”
While I have no doubt she’d be a good addition, it’s hard to tell how she’d be considering she’s never hosted the show!
