Hollywood actress Olivia Cooke has revealed she was turned down by two soaps before finding fame in movies.
The Ready Player One star, 24, has revealed how she auditioned for Hollyoaks and Emmerdale but was turned down by both of them.
But there are no hard feelings for Olivia and she’s glad she didn’t get the parts.
She told The Sunday Mirror: “Thank God, thank God, thank God – I’d still be there now, five years later.”
Olivia also spoke about defying the expectation to be a soap star because she’s northern, insisting she had her eye on Hollywood.
She added: “Being from the north of England, when you want to be an actor you only expect that you’re going to be a soap star.
“You’re like, ‘I wanna be an actress’ and ‘I wanna work with Spielberg’ – but you never think you really will.”
However, she managed to make it after landing a part in the big budget video game movie.

The actress, who was born and raised in Oldham, plays both Samantha and her virtual alter ego Art3mis in the film.
She attended the same Oldham Theatre Workshop that produced actors like Suranne Jones, Sarah Lancashire and Anna Friel.
Soapland’s loss is Hollywood’s gain.
Olivia is also known for her roles in TV series Bates Motel and creepy horror flick Ouija.
And – little known fact – she’s even appeared in a One Direction video where she got a piggy back from Harry Styles!
