In last night’s I’m A Celebrity, Dennis Wise returned to the camp a hero after winning all eight stars in the latest trial.
He had to conquer the underwater ‘Temple Of Gloom’ maze that had caused Iain Lee to have a panic attack earlier in the series and quit before he’d barely got going.
The footballer made the radio host look a bit silly when he returned to camp by boasting that he managed to smash the trial in half the time he needed.
He told his friends Jamie Lomas and Amir Khan that he hadn’t found it difficult and accused Iain of exaggerating about how bad it was.
But eagle-eyed viewers have leapt to Iain’s defence to point out that no wonder Dennis found the trial easier – because it was.
They spotted that while Iain had to swim through a tank full of eels to get to the next air pocket, for Dennis it was empty.
One asked: “Have they changed this trial?? I’m sure Iain’s first star was in the first tank full of water and eels.”
Another said: “Am I the only one to notice the first tank was emptied for Dennis – made it so much easier!”
Others also observed that the first stars Iain had to collect were in the first tank with the eels where it was difficult to breathe, whereas Dennis’ were in a large chamber that wasn’t flooded with water.
Another saw an additional way they’d made it easier tweeting: “Did notice tonight on the Temple of Gloom trial they removed the membrane thing from the first air pocket – which caused Iain lots of problems.”
Lots more, including Dennis himself, also pointed out that it was much easier for him because he’s a “very small man” as Dec likes to put it.
His diminutive stature made it a lot easier for him to manoeuvre through the small boxes compared to when 6ft4 Iain tried.
It also didn’t help that Iain wasn’t a strong swimmer and so he was already worried about the task before it had begun.
Viewers were concerned when he quit the trial last month and needed oxygen because he had a panic attack in the small underwater chamber.
He returned to camp a defeated man and cried when he told everyone they would go hungry that evening because he had to quit.
But while it didn’t win him any friends in camp, it did endear him to the viewers at home, who now aren’t happy that Dennis has made him look weak for gloating about how well he did in the “same” trial.
Could the incident mean Dennis will be the next star booted out of the jungle? Tune in this evening to find out!
