Amir Khan found himself in hot water with some I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! viewers last night.
The 30-year-old boxer raised eyebrows by suggesting men shouldn’t cry – prompting a slew of tweets from viewers saying the complete opposite.
Amir brought up the subject at camp following Iain Lee’s failure on the latest Bushtucker Trial.
He said: “I don’t like seeing men cry. For a man to cry it must be that he’s had enough. I don’t think men should cry.”

Jamie Lomas and Georgia ‘Toff’ Toffolo, however, felt that wasn’t true.
“I think it’s okay for men to cry,” said Toff. “I really do. I think they should and I think it’s important for men to express their feelings.”
When quizzed on the last time he cried, Amir said it was probably when he was about 13.
“I don’t know why,” he said. “It’s really bad when you don’t cry. I want to cry sometimes. I hold it in.
“I’m very emotional. I’ll get really upset and deal with it and get on with something else.”
Rebekah Vardy then chipped in to say: “I hate crying. I feel when I cry it shows weakness.”
Amir agreed: “It shows weakness and then people will crawl over you. Never show weakness.”
Jamie, however, disagreed, saying: “I think as men we don’t cry and that’s the problem. So many men suffer with depression or illness and don’t say anything.”

He added privately in the Bush Telegraph: “It’s not a weakness. It’s a strength showing your emotions and there is nothing wrong with that. Real men cry.”
Many viewers agreed with Jamie and took to social media to counter Amir’s views.
Other viewers, however, rushed to Amir’s defence.
They said a) he’s entitled to his own opinion and b) he never said he didn’t feel emotion, just that he didn’t cry.
Some viewers pointed out Amir told the camp he knew he should cry more often, it just doesn’t happen.
I’m A Celeb continues 9pm on ITV.
