I’m A Celebrity co-host Dec Donnelly has furiously hit back at a ‘harsh’ viewer who criticised the letters from home segment.
The I’m A Celeb fan had taken to Twitter to criticise a segment of the show which saw the celebrities receive letters from home.
What happened on I’m A Celebrity last night?
Emotions were running high in Gwrych Castle last night (Monday, December 6) as the celebrities received letters from home. All of the stars received letters, apart from EastEnders star Adam Woodyatt and ex-football legend David Ginola.
Record producer Naughty Boy was left in tears as a letter from his niece was read out by Coronation Street stalwart Simon Gregson.

“It’s been amazing to watch your journey and how far you’ve come from your self-doubts to overcoming your fears and becoming more and more confident,” Aisha, his niece, had written. She also revealed that his mother, who suffers from dementia, was doing “well”.
After reading Danny Miller‘s letter to him, a tearful David Ginola had to walk away from the group. Danny followed him and hugged him.
“I’m proud of you, it was beautiful. They love you so much,” David told the Emmerdale star.

Whilst the ‘letters from home’ segment of I’m A Celebrity will have tugged at the heartstrings of many, one viewer wasn’t as impressed.
“I’ll never understand the drama over letters from home on TV shows,” they tweeted. “I’ve ignored texts longer than they are in the jungle!”
The last thing this Twitter user expected was for his tweet to be slammed by the official Ant and Dec Twitter account! Dec took control of the account to reply to the tweet.
“I think the people saying this are a bit harsh and probably don’t have small children!” he wrote. “Bearing in mind they isolated for 2 weeks before the series they’ve now been away from family, camping with strangers and starved for a full month! D.”
If Dec was expecting everyone to agree with him, he’ll have been a little dissapointed. The reaction under his Twitter swipe back was mixed to say the least.
How did I’m A Celebrity fans respond?
“Military wife here. Can’t sympathise at all I’m afraid,” one I’m A Celebrity fan replied.
“Nobody forced them to do it, and are getting well paid, oh my god grow a set,” another disgruntled viewer said.
“They do choose to do it and get a decent pay packet though?!?!” a third viewer snapped.
But there were some people on Dec’s side though.
“Lots of judgemental people in here…You don’t know what it’s like…You’ve never done it so…If you’ve nothing good to say zip it!!! No ones making you watch it!” one fan wrote.
“Why are some people just negative about everything! If you don’t like it, don’t watch it! People talking about how much they love their families is okay in my book!” another said.
“Declan Donnelly just saying it as it is. What a king!” a third fan said.

Elsewhere in last night’s show, Paralympic gold medallist Kadeena Cox became the second celebrity to be voted off the show. When speaking to Ant and Dec about her time on the show, the 30-year-old said: “I thought it would be a lot easier than what it was.”
“But I feel like I still showed even with these trials and tribulations of life of someone with a chronic condition, you can still crack on and have fun,” she continued.
