Jack Maynard was no doubt hoping I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! would help introduce him to a whole new audience and boost his career.
But instead he’s found himself on a plane back to the UK after dramatically leaving the jungle just days after arriving.
He’s been accused of alleged racism and homophobia after a newspaper unearthed now-deleted tweets he’d sent back in 2012.
And in a further blow, it’s now been speculated that the YouTuber may have to forfeit a hefty chunk of his rumoured £25,000 fee.

According to The Mirror, an ‘unwritten show rule’ means celebrities who fail to make it past three full days in the jungle may not receive their entire fee.
ITV, however, declined to comment on whether this is true or not.
The rumoured ‘unwritten rule’ first surfaced back in 2014, after Gemma Collins revealed she didn’t get her full fee because she quit 72 hours after arriving.
She received just £4,800 from her undisclosed fee – and donated the lot to charity.
At the time, the TOWIE star’s rep said: “I can confirm that the £4,800 fee was the full and final fee that Gemma received for her participation in I’m A Celebrity.”
The fee she would have got if she’d stayed on the show was never revealed.
Meanwhile, Jack’s departure was announced by Ant & Dec on Tuesday night’s episode of I’m A Celebrity.
The reason was not given on air but his spokesperson later confirmed it was to allow Jack to defend himself against recent tabloid stories.
He was forced to apologise last week after a newspaper dug up old homophobic and racist tweets that had been sent from his Twitter account.
A spokeswoman for the vlogger said at the time: “Jack is ashamed of these tweets, many were deleted a long time ago.
“He would never use that language now and realises this kind of retaliatory, inflammatory, insulting language is completely unacceptable.”
Since then he’s also been accused of sending allegedly ‘inappropriate’ messages to a female fan, although he’s yet to respond to that allegation.
A statement to The Sun read: “In the last few days Jack has been the subject of a succession of media stories which, given his position as a contestant on I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here – filmed in the Australian jungle, with no contact with the outside world, he has been unable to respond to.
“Since it is only fair that everyone should be aware of any allegations made against them and should also have the right to defend themselves, it was agreed that it would be better to bring him out of the show.

“Jack agrees with this decision which was made by his representatives and ITV and thanks everyone who has supported him in the show this far.”
His departure led to a split between viewers, some of whom threatened to boycott the show if he wasn’t reinstated, and others who felt it was a justified decision.
I’m A Celebrity airs nightly 9pm on ITV.
