The shower scene. It’s an I’m A Celeb staple. A chance for the stars to flaunt their figures and swimsuit choices in the hope it might boost their chances of staying on the show.
Well, it worked for Myleene Klass whose career was relaunched in 2006 after she was regularly seen showering in a white bikini.
Since then, Amy Willerton, Jorgie Porter and Ferne McCann among others have hoped a shower scene could help their chances of attracting some more air time. Not to mention help them freshen up.
But this year’s campmates will have to find another way to stay clean as it was revealed on Good Morning Britain that they have been banned from using the jungle shower.
Revealing the news, showbiz reporter Richard Arnold said the area will be out of bounds for now due to an invasion of bloodsucking leeches.
He said: “The real rub here is that they have invaded the shower and the shower scene is quite famous, particularly if you want to start selling bikinis off the back of your stint.
“So for now the shower is out of bounds.”

The creatures, examples of which were in the GMB studio today with expert handler Carl Peters Bond, have been drawn out in the jungle due to the bad weather down under.
Carl explained how the leeches operate when Susanna Reid asked him how they would “sneak up” on the showering celebs.
“They can move like a slinky and detect carbon dioxide emissions. They have anaesthetic in their bite so they won’t feel them attach,” he explained.
Carl added that the leeches could draw 5-10 times their body weight in blood before they drop off their victim and it is then that their wound may sting.
Piers asked if they could kill the stars, but Carl said it would take thousands attaching to do this.
The danger they pose to the celebs is causing a blood infection if they are not removed correctly. For instance, if a celeb tried to use a flame to try and get them to release their hold on them, the leech could regurgitate their blood back into them, ewwww!
But Carl added that leeches aren’t all bad, they are used in hospitals to help with skin grafts and boost circulation.
We’re sure none of the campmates would be keen to meet one in the jungle though when they’ll already have enough bugs, snakes and bushtucker trials to deal with.
Sounds like the camp isn’t going to be too fragrant now either if the shower remains out of bounds!
