Bruno Tonioli tired from US-UK flights amid Strictly and DWTS judging duties

He flies between the UK and US twice a week every week

Bruno Tonioli is reportedly starting to feel the effects of jetting back and forth between the US and the UK every week.

The 61-year-old serves as a judge on both Strictly Come Dancing and its US equivalent, Dancing With The Stars, which means two long-haul flights every seven days.

Now, even if you’re travelling first class in the plushest of surroundings, that’s gotta be exhausting, right?

So perhaps it’s no surprise his Strictly co-judge Craig Revel Horwood has suggested all the travel is getting a bit too much for Bruno.

Writing in his new Woman magazine column, Craig claimed: “Bruno’s starting to get tetchy with the flying back and forth to America, where he’s a judge on Dancing with the Stars.”

Craig: “He wasn’t on Strictly last week because he stayed in America — but it was always the plan.

“I couldn’t do all that travelling.”

Same here.

Meanwhile, former Strictly head judge Len Goodman, who still works with Bruno on Dancing with the Stars, told The Sun: “I ask him each week who got knocked out and he says, ‘I can’t remember’. I do understand that.”

Len himself used to do the same twice weekly flights between the US and UK before retiring from Strictly last year.

Bruno was forced to miss his first Strictly shows in 13 years last weekend, when work commitments to Dancing with the Stars in Los Angeles kept him away.

That meant Craig, Shirley Ballas and Darcey Bussell judged as a threesome.

Naturally, it’s led to some outlets speculating that Bruno may quit Strictly to focus on Dancing with the Stars (’cause, hello sunshine in LA, goodbye British rain!)

Thankfully, however, he’s insisted that will NEVER happen!

In a video posted to his Twitter from LA on Tuesday night, Bruno vowed: “Don’t you worry. I will be back on Saturday with a Halloween spectacular!

“You won’t get rid of me that easily!”

He also replied to a string of Strictly fans to insist he would “100 per cent” be back in his Strictly seat by the weekend.

Naturally, everyone was pleased to hear it!

Fans were stunned last week when Strictly bosses said Bruno would be skipping week five because of prior work commitments.

Many pointed out surely Strictly is his work and had been in the calendar for quite some time?

However, a spokesperson for Strictly said: “As was always the plan, Bruno Tonioli is not on the judging panel this weekend due to a very busy work schedule.

“He will be back as normal for our Halloween special and the rest of the series.”

We’re glad to hear it!
