James Martin won’t be on air with his Saturday Morning show again this weekend (July 29), but we do have good news for fans of the TV chef.
While the cooking show will certainly be missed, James’ fans can console themselves with a double helping of the hunky TV cook. It comes after weeks of disruption and a James-shaped hole in our Saturday mornings.
However, what we give with one hand we take away with another. In the words of the man himself: “Soz!”
James Martin’s Saturday Morning off air
Last week, instead of ITV’s usual James Martin’s Saturday Morning, England’s Women’s World Cup game against Haiti aired on the channel. It came after the previous week’s James Martin fix was replaced by the Goodwood Festival of Speed. However, fear not James fans. The heart-throb chef will be back on the box this Saturday (July 29).
It’s the end of series – back in September. Soz!
However, it won’t be with his mammoth Saturday Morning show. The man himself has revealed that it is off air for months now. Taking to Twitter, James said: “It’s the end of series – back in September. Soz.”
Instead, his hour-long American Adventure will air at 9.35am. Later, you’ll be able to get a 30-minute fix with his Great British Adventure. It’s on at 12.45pm.
Better than nothing, right? We’re not sure this lot will agree…
Posting on social media, one fan said: “Will there be a new season of Saturday Morning coming out? Need my weekly fix back.” Another fan clearly feeling the pain added: “No Saturday Morning. My weekend is ruined.”
James Martin doctorate
Earlier this month, away from the small screen, James announced that he had received an honorary doctorate from the University of Bolton. The TV chef achieved the award for his outstanding contribution to hospitality and entertainment.
Sharing a snap on Instagram, James wrote: “Wow, what a honour! Today I received an Honorary Doctorate from @boltonuni! Firstly, what joy it was to see all the amazing people graduating today and I wish them all the very best.
“Secondly, thank you University of Bolton for this. As a young lad, who academically didn’t have a lot to enter the world at the start, getting this means so much. Chuffed to bits! Professor and now Doctor Martin! Thank you!!”

Many of James’s followers took to the comment section, to express their congratulations.
One person said: “Congratulations. I vote a knighthood for you next after all your work getting us through lockdown with your recipes and suppliers. You’ve enlightened us and entertained us in a way no one else has over more than three decades.”
A second wrote: “Doc Martin, many congratulations!”
And presenter Ruth Langsford said: “How fantastic! Congratulations Doctor Martin!”
