Jane McDonald revealed her fresh heartbreak over her late fiancé Eddie Rothe on The One Show last night.
The singing sensation was on the BBC One teatime show chatting to Alex Jones and Rylan Clark via video link.
And, as Rylan asked her about her new Jane McDonald’s Yorkshire show, Jane made the heartbreaking confession.
What did Jane McDonald say about Ed?
Jane was chatting about her new show when she unexpectedly mentioned Ed.
He died in March 2021 after a short battle with lung cancer.
At the time, a statement on her Twitter account read: “It is with immense sadness that we share the news that Jane’s beloved long term partner, Ed, passed away on Friday 26th March.

“He had been battling lung cancer for the last few months. We would like to thank everyone for all their help and support.”
After speaking about Ed during an emotional interview on Loose Women back in November 2021, Jane once again spoke about him during the chat last night (February 18).
‘It’s rubble’
Jane was speaking about the Wakefield Theatre Club, which she revisits in Jane McDonald’s Yorkshire, when she mentioned Ed.
“I had the best nights of my entire life in this place, it was Wakefield Theatre Club,” she said.
Jane added: “And it was also the Pussycat, I had a job as a barmaid there, I even met Ed there as well.”

At this point, Alex and Rylan both said: “Awwww.”
Jane continued: “I tell you what, it could tell some stories.”
She then dropped a heartbreaking bombshell, her face falling.
But you’ve got the memories, Jane.
“And it’s a car park,” she said.
“It’s rubble, it’s gone.”
Rylan jumped in to comfort Jane and said: “But you’ve got the memories, Jane.”
The singer agreed and told the hosts: “You can’t take that away from me.”
Jane’s tribute to Ed
Back in November, brave Jane told her Loose Women pals how she was feeling in the months after Ed’s death.
And, she said, she didn’t want to “feel sad” for the rest of her life.
“I don’t want to feel sad for the rest of my life because that wasn’t Ed. Ed was golden, smiley, he was beautiful.”
