We always assumed that viewers vote for I’m A Celebrity contestants to take part in bushtucker trials because they have it in for them.
But it turns out that one of this year’s hopefuls is being put forward for the dreaded tasks by none other than their own partner!
Jennie McAlpine’s husband Chris Farr has revealed that he longs for the Corrie star to suffer every one of the ordeals, whether it be eating insects or traversing high wires.
And amazingly, he claims that he has his wife’s best interests at heart when he casts his vote…
Restaurant manager Chris, who married Jennie earlier this year, told the Mirror: “She wanted the full jungle experience – she wanted to do trials, to get to know everyone and see all the camp and everything.
“I’ve been voting on the app every day, even for the ones I know she wouldn’t really want to do. I told her I was going to vote for her, so I’m voting every time – for her to stay in and do trials.”
Of course, there’s every chance that Jennie – who plays Fiz Brown on the ITV soap – has changed her mind about wanting to experience everything, having actually done some of the trials.
The actress, 33, looked distinctly unimpressed as grubs crawled all over her face in one disgusting ordeal.

But Chris is adamant that Jennie can hang in there, and believes his wife can go all the way in the competition.
He insisted: “She absolutely has what it takes to be Queen of the Jungle.”
Last week, Jennie explained her motivation for wanting to take part in I’m A Celebrity.
In an emotional scene, she revealed to the campmates that her father had died earlier this year.
And she confided that before his death, he’d encouraged her to stretch beyond her comfort zone.
Referring to her dad, the mother-of-one sobbed: “He told me to do things that I’m not brave enough to do. He’d always push me to do things.”
Jennie tied the knot with Chris back in January, and following the ceremony in Manchester she shared the news with her followers on Twitter.

The redhead gushed: “So, we went to Trafford Town Hall earlier this week and had a bit of a special day.”
Well, Jennie, it sounds like you’re doing your hubby proud…
