Her mum Jackie brought AJ on the show in the hope of helping her daughter stop blaming herself for her son’s death.
Jackie said the family had to wait a year before burying Ruben because police were unable to determine to cause of death until Lee admitted he was guilty.
Jackie said: “For the whole year Ruben was kept with the place, we couldn’t bury him. The police had him longer than we did.
“[Lee’s] excuse was he woke up in a bad mood. Ruben wouldn’t stop crying so he shook him.
“He shook him so hard that he left bruising on his cheek where his head had slapped his shoulder.”
Jackie revealed Lee was given five years and four months in prison after pleading guilty to manslaughter.
However, he could only serve two as he has already been given an early release date of December 2020.
Speaking about losing her son, AJ tearfully said: “[Lee] rang me at 20 past seven saying that there was something wrong with little man and that I needed to come round.”
AJ – who blames herself for leaving her son with her boyfriend – then rushed her son to the hospital, where she was told he wouldn’t make it.
She added: “You get a certain amount of time to say goodbye to them.
