Joel McDommett has ruled himself out of replacing Ant McPartlin as co-host on this year’s I’m A Celebrity.
The former campmate, 32, has suggested Declan Donnelly doesn’t need a replacement presenting partner, after he proved himself to be a strong solo host on Saturday Night Takeaway and Britain’s Got Talent.
“I’m sure he’ll be fine on his own. He’s amazing,” Joel told The Sun.
He added that if ITV did decide to stick with two presenters, he recommends they choose his Extra Camp co-host Scarlett Moffatt as she and Dec would be “an amazing team.”
Joel has been one of the people tipped to take over from Ant as speculation has been rife over who could fill his role.
But the comedian ruled himself out, saying he wouldn’t be able to handle the pressure.

He said: “I don’t think they’d trust me with such very big shoes to fill. Genuinely I would never be able to do it. I don’t know whether I would really.”
Joel said Scarlett could definitely handle it though, calling her the “nicest, most wonderful human being.”
Last week Ant, 42, announced he would not be returning to work his year as he continues to work through alcohol issues and prescription drug addiction.
He said: “My recovery is going very well and for that to continue having spoken to Dec and ITV, I have made the decision to take the rest of the year off.

“I’d like to thank both Dec and ITV for their continued support and I look forward to getting back to work in the New Year.”
I’m A Celebrity will return to screens his Autumn and the current people’s favourite to replace Ant is Stephen Mulhern.
