Amir Khan admitted he had never watched I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here! before agreeing to appear on it and now Joel Dommett has revealed just how utterly clueless the boxer was about the show.
Speaking on Tuesday’s Extra Camp, the comic, who was the runner-up on the last series, said the Olympian had been making a massive mistake during his first few days in camp as he had no idea how the reality show worked.
Joel told co-host Scarlett Moffatt he wasn’t sure if he was supposed to share the inside info but he couldn’t resist letting Amir’s secret out of the bag.
He said on the spin-off show: “Someone told me this – and I don’t know whether I’m allowed to say this but I’m doing it…
“Someone said to me that when he was first in the Bush Telegraph, for the first couple of days, he didn’t know he was being filmed.”
Joel’s guests burst out laughing when they heard Amir’s gaffe and Scarlett couldn’t believe it raising her hands to her mouth in shock.
Joel added: “Isn’t that the sweetest thing you’ve ever heard?
“He thought he was just talking to someone and it was just like a weird little sort of therapist.”

Viewers have already branded the boxer “daft as a brush” after he’s made a number of silly mistakes.
Earlier this week, he asked his campmates if there has ever been a female Prime Minister and on another occasion he mistook steam for smoke.
Many have found 30-year-old Amir’s lack of intelligence and fear of snakes endearing but others have questioned if it is all part of a game plan.
However, Scarlett said she couldn’t see how anyone could think Amir was plotting to win when he “doesn’t even understand the show.”
Last night Amir, who is reportedly the show’s highest paid star, got into trouble along with Iain Lee for scoffing strawberries and cream that should have been shared by all the campmates.
Like naughty schoolboys, the pair decided to eat all the fruit themselves and then tell the others they had failed to win them.
However, Iain’s conscience later got the better of him, forcing him to confess what they had done.
Hiding in the Bush Telegraph, hopefully now aware that he was being filmed, Amir said he couldn’t leave him to face their wrath alone and also came clean about the crime.

Their angry campmates said the terrible twosome couldn’t have any more treats in the future as punishment and would have to have just rice and beans for dinner.
Later in the show, it was revealed Amir could get further punishment as he was voted to do the next Bushtucker Trial along with Georgia Toffolo.
