Kate Garraway has announced plans to take a break from GMB to look after her husband Derek and spend more time with her children.
The GMB host, 53, confirmed on today’s (Friday, August 21) episode that she would be “taking a bit of time off”.
What did Kate Garraway say about her break from GMB?
Speaking to her co-host Alex Beresford, Kate said she won’t be on the ITV daytime show all next week.
She revealed to viewers: “I’m actually not here next week. I’m taking a bit of time off, to help [my son] Billy get ready for secondary school, and my other children.
“And also Derek, look after things. I just want to say, thank you to all of you [viewers] for absolutely being brilliant since I’ve come back through troubling times.”
Kate went on to thank her fellow Good Morning Britain presenters, including pal Ben Shephard, for being like “family”.
She said: “And everyone here, you, Ben and all the people on-screen and off-screen. Everyone talks about ITV and television being a brutal business. But it’s not, it’s a family.”
