Kevin Clifton has heaped praise on Alex Scott’s “unbelievable” performance on last night’s Strictly Come Dancing.
The pro dancer had to step in for Neil Jones at the last minute after he injured himself in training. Despite having less than an hour to prepare together, the pair pulled off their dance to the Ghostbusters theme tune – and earned a huge 34 points from the judges.
Reflecting on their performance after some viewers criticised the high score, Kevin took to Instagram today (27.10.19) to congratulate Alex.

Alongside a picture of them wearing in their Ghostbusters outfits, he wrote: “Unbelievable performance from @alexscott2 last night. @mrjonesofficial and myself were so proud of her.
“At the last minute her partner gets an injury. Has to pass the routine on to another professional in about 45 minutes. Then even when I made a mistake she carried on and got me through the routine. Talk about calm under pressure.”

He continued: “It also shows how far @alexscott2 has come in six weeks and what fantastic work Neil has been doing.”
Kevin finished: “They both deserve so much love. Hopefully you’ll be back on your feet, Neil. I want to see you two do that routine together in the final!”
The post prompted a flood of responses from famous faces and fans alike, including one from Kevin’s girlfriend Stacey Dooley, who wrote: “Well done Alex! Champ approach.”

It comes as Alex denied there was anything romantic going on with partner Neil. When quizzed about a potential romance, she said: “It’s great that everyone can see how well me and Neil get on, and that we do have this great partnership and it’s not just for TV.
“But we’re not thinking anything about that. We’re together all the time training, and we’re so immersed in Strictly and doing everything for the show, so that stuff hasn’t even entered our thoughts.”
