What is Landscapers on Sky Atlantic all about?
Landscapers is a new, darkly comic drama starring Academy Award-winner Olivia Colman and David Thewlis.
They portray a seemingly normal married couple who are very much in love.
But they are hiding a tragic secret – they murdered her parents in cold blood.
Sky describe it as a “funny exploration of love and fantasy”.
Olivia Colman and David Thewlis star as a mild-mannered husband and wife Susan and Christopher Edwards.
The pair have been on the run from reality for more than 15 years.
In their minds, the fantasists are Hollywood heroes…
In reality, they are double murderers who have blocked out their gnawing guilt.
Ed Sinclair wrote the script for the series.
And he just happens to be Olivia Colman’s husband of 18 years!
Is Landscapers a true story?
Landscapers is based on the so-called Mansfield Murders – the chilling true story of double murderers Susan and Christopher Edwards.
Susan murdered her own mother and father Patricia and William Wycherly in Nottinghamshire in 1998.
With the help of her husband, Susan had shot both her parents and buried them in a shallow grave in their back garden.
They committed the money purely for financial gain – they wanted access to Patricia and William’s bank accounts.
The pair managed to hide the crime for years.
After going on the run and ending up in France, they eventually turned themselves in in 2012.

Landscapers Sky Atlantic trailer
Sky released the trailer to Landscapers last month.
It shows Susan and Christopher arriving back in the UK where the police are waiting for them – and the media.
We hear Christopher urge his wife to just “tell their story, no need to make anything up”.
But, as they’re both held for questioning, Susan’s overactive imagination takes over.
The trailer shows the pair in scenes from classic movies as real life and imagination clash.
All episodes of Landscapers are available to watch from Tuesday December 7 2021 on Sky Atlantic and NOW.
