The Nottingham-born actress, 36, told What’s On TV that she refused to accept a role on Crossroads.
The ITV soap ran from 1964 to 1988 and brought in a whopping 18 million viewers.
But it was when it returned for a brief stint in 2001 – for two years- that Vicky was offered a role.
She told the magazine: “Back in the day, when I was at Workshop [The Television Workshop in Nottingham] I got offered a part in the Crossroads remake.”

The actress, who made a name for herself in the brilliant Shane Meadows series and film This Is England, added: “At the time I was like, ‘I’ll do anything, but I’m not doing that!’.”
Ouch!
Despite being outspoken about the lack of opportunities for working class actors, Vicky admits that she felt confident enough to hold out for a big role.
She said: “At a time when I desperately needed work, I’d be up for an audition for something like Footballers’ Wives, which people loved and I watched, but I thought, ‘It’s not me’.
Vicky is about to appear in the C4 drama I Am Nicola.
C4 commissioned a three-part anthology series starring Oscar nominee Samantha Morton, Humans’ Gemma Chan and Vicky.
Each hour-long film follows a different woman as they experience “moments that are emotionally raw, thought-provoking and utterly personal”.
