Judi said: “We just wanted to be there for her yesterday.”
Charlene said: “You popped to my house and we drove over, and we went to go and see her.
“What do you do when with somebody when they lose their child? You don’t really know what the right thing to do is.
“We just wanted to physically be with her and give them all the hugs and love we could possibly give them.”
Charlene said Jamal “changed the UK music scene in a way we’ve not seen for generations”.
Linda went on to say that Jamal helped her son, Louis, and “took him under his wing” and helped his music career.
She said: “He was the loveliest boy.”
After watching a clip of Jamal on Loose Women in November 2021 alongside Brenda, Charlene and her co-stars became emotional.
Charlene said of Brenda: “I’m immensely proud of the mother that she is and what she produced in both Jamal and Tanisha.
“Jamal’s impact will keep going on, it will be felt for years and years and years to come because that is the man that he was.”
The show ended with the panellists reading out viewers’ tributes to Jamal and Brenda before a throwback clip of Brenda singing on the show was played to close out the programme.
