Loose Women star Katie Piper has been forced to pull out of hosting her own TV show, Katie Piper’s Breakfast Show, for the second week in a row.
Her break away from filming comes after the star suffered an adverse reaction to an unplanned eye operation.
Katie’s ITV programme was covered by presenter Charlotte Hawkins last weekend (June 8/9), as Katie navigated her recovery process.
Katie was left with severe scarring and health difficulties after being attacked with acid in 2008. Consequently, the TV star has undergone several procedures.
Loose Women star Katie Piper told to take ‘all the time she needs’
A source alleged to the Mirror: “Katie had quite a bad reaction to this operation, which has left her feeling really poorly. Much as she’d love to be back on the sofa on Saturday, at the moment it’s just not realistic and she acknowledges this.
Katie had quite a bad reaction to this operation, which has left her feeling really poorly.
“She is concentrating on her recovery so that she can be back to her best as soon as possible. ITV has been really understanding and has said to her that she should take all the time she needs before coming back.”
Katie’s rep told ED!: “Katie’s recovery from an eye operation has taken a little longer than expected so sadly she won’t be hosting her Breakfast Show again this week, however she looks forward to returning for the final episodes of the run next weekend.”

Katie Piper’s Breakfast Show stand-in
Last weekend, prior to the news that Katie had been left feeling “really poorly”, her representative explained: “Katie Piper won’t be presenting her breakfast show this weekend on ITV, either today (June 8) or tomorrow (June 9).
“She’s just put a post on her Instagram but she had to have an unexpected medical procedure and with some rest she hopes to be back next weekend. Charlotte Hawkins kindly stood in at the last minute.”
Of course, the beloved presenter has been met with an outpouring of support. Charlotte Hawkins said: “Sending lots of love to you.”
Carol Vorderman chimed in: “Take care wonderful lady. You come first. Telly is just telly. Sending huge love and respect.”
Gaby Roslin penned: “Sending you lots of love and healing energy beautiful girl.”
Fellow Loose Woman Andrea McLean commented: “Sorry to hear that Katie. I hope all is well soon x.”
ED! has contacted Katie’s reps for comment.
