Loose Women’s Jane Moore has revealed how she debunked rumours about Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan’s marriage after eavesdropping on them during a train journey.
The journalist explained on Monday’s episode that many years ago, before she was ever on TV, speculation about the couple’s relationship had been doing the rounds.
Rumours had been swirling back in the day about trouble in Richard & Judy’s marriage… so when Jane got on a train and they ended up sitting at the table across from her, she thought she’d be in for a good scoop.
But that’s NOT what ended up happening…

Jane explained how, during the course of their journey, she realised Richard & Judy’s marriage was rock solid and the rumours were very, very wrong.
“I got on the train to Manchester, they got on and sat opposite me,” she said.
“They had no clue who I was – it was before I was on TV – and I had headphones on [but nothing playing], which was a technique I used in those days so people would think I wasn’t listening.
“I thought, ‘This will be good! Two and a half hours on a train’… and at the end of the two and a half hours, not only did I see that’s a marriage that wasn’t in trouble, that was a very, very good marriage.
“The whole dynamic. She wasn’t very well, he was looking after her. They had great conversation and a good spark.
“I went back to the newspaper I worked for and wrote a piece saying their marriage wasn’t in trouble. And, still to this day, when I see Richard, he says, ‘Thank you so much’.”
Jane’s memory was prompted after a student went viral when she tweeted a conversation she’d overheard between two men on a train.

Emily tweeted: “If anyone has a boyfriend called Ben …. he’s just told his friends he’s cheating on you. Dump his [bleep].”
Social media has now gone crazy trying to track down Ben, while it’s also sparked a debate on whether it’s appropriate to broadcast other people’s conversations online.
Many viewers took to Twitter today to share their opinions, after Loose Women asked whether they’d ever expose a stranger’s cheating on social media.
