Loose Women viewers were left disgusted over one particular segment of the show today (Friday, February 18).
At one point during today’s show, the Loose Women discussed cooking meals in your dishwasher – and viewers were horrified!
What happened on Loose Women today?
During the final part of today’s Loose Women, the panelists discussed some methods that you could use to save on your energy bills during a period when the cost of living is on the rise.
“The latest cooking trend, which is eco-friendly and promises to help you save on gas, electric, and water bills, has caused quite the controversy online,” Kaye Adams said.
A short clip of a man cooking a steak in his dishwasher was then shown. A clip of a woman putting jars of food in a dishwasher was also shown.

“Not surprisingly, I think opinions are really divided on this,” Kaye said. “Lots of people think ‘yay, that’s great’. A lot of other people think ‘ew I don’t know, cooking your food in the same water as you’re doing your dirty dishes, it’s a bit kind of repulsive.”
Kaye then said that she remains to be convinced by the new trend.
“But who else would test it out than Chef Nadia,” she said.
What happened next?
Nadia Sawalha then reappeared, wheeling a trolly ladened with covered plates.
It was then revealed that the food under the plate covers had been cooked in the dishwasher.
Nadia then unveiled a steak she made, which had taken her two-and-a-half hours to cook in the dishwasher. She admitted that it could have taken her four minutes in the frying pan.
“It smells like school dinners,” Jane Moore said before she’d even lifted the plate cover.
Nadia then revealed that she had cooked a “beautiful” spinach and ricotta lasagne in the dishwasher.
“I think beautiful is pushing it,” Kaye said. “Looks like it’s lost the will to live,” Jane quipped.
Nadia explained that what they’re trying to do is be eco-friendly and save on bills and energy.
“I don’t think it’s worth it, to be honest,” Kaye muttered.
What did viewers say about the segment on Loose Women today?
Viewers were as disgusted as the other Loose Women on today’s show.
“Have I just heard it right on #LooseWomen you can cook things in the dishwasher????? That’s just wrong,” one viewer tweeted.
“Cook in the dishwasher?!” another horrified viewer asked.

“I would never cook my food in the dishwasher that’s disgusting,” a third wrote.
“I would never cook my food in the dishwasher that’s disgusting,” another said.
“Cooking your food in your dishwasher with dirty dishes. How dirty is that,” a fifth disgusted viewer said.
It doesn’t sound like cooking meals in dishwashers is going to catch on anytime soon, thankfully!
