Loose Women host Denise Welch was reduced to tears today as her son Louis paid tribute to her during a special show held to mark Mother’s Day.
At the end of the programme, panellist Andrea McLean announced that producers had planned a surprise for the women and she had no idea what was coming up.
Telling the ladies to “watch the screens”, Stacey Solomon’s sons Leighton and Zachary were the first to pop up.
“Happy Mother’s Day Mummy!” they shouted, much to pregnant Stacey’s delight.

Denise’s 18-year-old son Louis, an actor, was the next to appear on screen. Denise laughed as she set eyes on her son, but as he delivered his heartfelt message, the star couldn’t help but cry.
“I just wanted to tell you how proud, not just me and Matty, but everyone in the family is of you. I couldn’t be prouder of you, happy Mother’s Day. Love you lots.”
An emotional Denise said: “I never in a million years thought Louis would put himself on telly like that, that’s really, really touched me so thank you.”
Denise got an extra surprise after the video aired as she was presented with a gorgeous bouquet of flowers that her eldest son Matty, lead singer of The 1975, had arranged to be delivered to the Loose Women set.

Andrea read out the attached note: “On Mother’s Day. I love you,” he had written.
By this point there was no holding back Denise’s emotions and, as her dad Vin watched from the audience, she revealed: “It’s made me miss my mum as well because my mum was very special to me.”
Stacey’s mum Fiona was also on the show and revealed she was looking forward to meeting her new grandchild. She said: “I’m quite excited actually just to see what the baby looks like.”
As the audience laughed, Stacey quipped: “Not excited about the extra babysitting, are you though, Mum?”
Fiona added: “I’m intrigued to see what baby Stacey and Joe have made together, I think it’ll be really cute.”
