Presenter Lorraine Kelly ranted against Extinction Rebellion protesters who caused fury among London commuters today.
Activists climbed on top of a train at Canning Town station during Thursday morning’s rush hour and angry commuters dragged one of them off the roof at the Jubilee Line train and a scuffle broke out.
The incident was discussed on today’s Good Morning Britain and Lorraine expressed her frustration as they cut to her on her talk show.

Before telling viewers what was coming up on her show, Lorraine branded the situation “horrendous”.
She said: “Morning, this is horrendous. I don’t recognise my country, what is going on?
“Absolutely horrible. People just trying to get to their work for goodness sake on the train there, which is electric anyway.
“I just don’t understand. It doesn’t make any sense to me. I think all of us have got sympathy for what they’re trying to do, but it’s just the way they’re going about it, it’s so toxic and divisive.”
She added: “Somebody’s going to get killed. It’s just nuts, absolutely nuts.”

The British Transport police has said four arrests have been made and there has been a strong police presence on the tube network.
In a statement BTP said: “We continue to urge protesters to not target the London Underground network. This is dangerous, not only for protesters but for commuters.
“We have increased our patrols on the London Underground and at other rail hubs throughout London.”

Meanwhile, Extinction Rebellion said the disruption was “necessary to highlight the emergency”.
Extinction Rebellion co-founder Clare Farrell defended the Tube action during an appearance on BBC Radio 4’s Today Programme.
She said: “It is still peaceful, and it is still non-violent.

“It makes them vulnerable, and that’s what people are there to do when they put their body on the line.”
Mayor of London Sadiq Khan said in a statement: “I strongly condemn the Extinction Rebellion protesters who have targeted the London Underground and DLR this morning.
“This illegal action is extremely dangerous, counterproductive and is causing unacceptable disruption to Londoners who use public transport to get to work.”
