Some of our favourite TV stars have been around for so long, we tend to take them for granted.
It never occurs to us that they might eventually want to give it all up and enjoy a few years of rest and relaxation.
Well, in a new interview, TV legend Lorraine Kelly has addressed the subject of retirement, and what she had to say might just surprise a few people.
The Scottish chat-show host may be 58 years old – only a few years away from retirement age – but she insisted that calling it a day is definitely not in her plans.
Speaking to the Is It Just Me? podcast, she said: “I just keep going. I’m going to be 60 next year, so that’s a long time I’ve been doing it. But I can’t ever imagine myself not doing it.
“I’ve seen all them regime changes over the years, but I think the most important thing is I genuinely love it.”
Lorraine, who’s married to cameraman Steve Smith, began her TV career in 1984, working on TV-am.

She went on to front Good Morning Britain, ITV Breakfast and Daybreak, before landing her own chat show, Lorraine, in 2010.
And she suggested that one of the best parts of her job is interacting with her viewers.
She told the podcast: “When I’m walking about, people feel like they really know me. I think it’s lovely – it’s like I’m their pal. It takes you two minutes to have a wee chat, a selfie, then off you go.”
That’s not to say that she always gets it right with the people at home.

In fact, just last week she provoked criticism while being interviewed on Good Morning Britain.
When Piers Morgan asked her who she’d like to win the World Cup, she expressed a fondness for Iceland – and some viewers were disappointed that she didn’t explicitly back England.
One tweeted: “What a judas that thing is – she must hate England throu her veins, Lorraine. Wat a showing up she got then #GMB.”
Another added: “Lorraine Kelly: makes a fortune presenting on ENGLISH TV but can’t even support us at the World Cup. Give her the sack @GMB.”
