Today Lorraine Kelly celebrated her 35th anniversary of being on our screens.
And to mark the milestone, today’s edition of the daytime show was briefly taken over by Good Morning Britain‘s Piers Morgan and included many messages from her close friends and showbiz pals.
But one message that left Lorraine on the verge of tears was from her mum and dad, who recorded a touching video message to their daughter.

At the end of the show, fashion expert Mark Hayes told Lorraine: “There’s just one final surprise Lorraine.
“We’ve heard from lots of people this morning but there are two more that have something to say about you.”
The video from Lorraine’s parents then popped up on screen as the Scottish presenter gasped.
She exclaimed: “Oh my God! I can’t believe you got my mum and dad.”
Her mum said in the footage: “She’s really clever and she’s done really well. We think the world of her but we don’t say it as often as we should say it.”

Lorraine was seen fanning herself as her mum continued: “We’re not lovey doveys but she knows we love her and we’re very proud of her.”
The presenter’s dad added: “She enjoys it very much and I hope she continues for a while now.”
Her mum said: “Everybody likes looking at her. I like looking at her anyway and I do watch her.”
As the camera returned to the studio, Lorraine was seen wiping away tears as she said: “I can’t believe you got my mum and dad to do that!
“My dad never does anything and I love them so much because they’re very Scottish, very down to Earth but oh for goodness’ sake. Oh my gosh.”
Earlier in the show, Lorraine was left red-faced when Piers showed a naked photo of her live on air.
Piers showed the nation a weekly column Lorraine wrote about going on a sunbed when she was a journalist on the East Kilbride News.
He said: “I know what you’re thinking viewers… Is there a picture of Lorraine Kelly on the sunbed?
“Oh, there is!”
Seeing the picture of her naked self pop up onscreen, Lorraine screamed: “Oh my God! That’s really scary!

“That shows you just how old I am because sunbeds were just coming out!”
Piers asked: “Just to clarify, it was an all over tan right?” to which Lorraine laughed: “Absolutely.”
